The Hollowmen / So Long Black 12” vinyl
Formed in 1985, The Hollowmen were renowned for articulate, literate folk/rock/pop with trademark melodies and harmonies.
‘So Long’ was their apocryphal final release from March 1990.
With Gina Hearnden replacing Barb Waters, the final piece of the puzzle dropped into place. The sublime and sympathetic vocal blending of Baxter, Stanley and Hearnden made an immediate impact with sold out shows and heavy playlisting.
Drummer Archie Cuthbertson and bassist John Drayton were the equal of any rhythm section, anywhere.
‘So Long’ also topped the independent charts.
