Montaigne’s first fully independent album it's hard to be a fish is a strange, tender epic - a record about family, survival, disconnection, and the slow work of becoming whole. It swims through grief, brushes against empathy, and emerges with something quietly powerful.
Built like a world inside a world, the album draws on RPGs, Kingdom Hearts, Disco Elysium, and the chaos of Everything Everywhere All At Once. Long-time bandmates, Montaigne’s partner, and Shuta Nishida helped shape this beautifully personal universe.
Pressed on 140g metallic silver vinyl, with a full-colour jacket, printed insert, poly-lined sleeve, and shrink-wrap.
