Micachu & The Shapes / Good Sad Happy Bad LP Black Vinyl
Product details
Micachu and the Shapes is the band formed by Mica Levi with friends Raisa Khan on keyboards, and Marc Pell on drums. Three years after the release of their last record 'Never,' Micachu are back with their almost accidental album 'Good Sad Happy Bad.' The trio of friends decided to rehearse in an East London studio, and found themselves immersed into an hours-long jam which Marc Pell recorded unbeknownst to the band. Pell, Mica Levi, and Raisa Khan were so enamoured with those off-the-cuff audio experiments that they became the underpinnings of a new record. The record's irrepressible energy, across both the upbeat and a handful of sadder songs, seems to be a direct result of the live recording process. Mica Levi is the youngest person ever to be an Artist in Residence at The Southbank Centre in London, cementing her place as a rising star in the world of modern composition. Mica has also been nominated for a BAFTA for her work on Jonathan Glazer's standout 2014 film, ‘Under the Skin', whose eerie depth is due in part to Levi's precise, otherworldly score.
