Loose Content 'Costumes' LP Red Vinyl RSD 2025 Exclusive

Loose Content are a three-piece indie/alt-rock band hailing from the hinterland of Byron Bay. Formed during high school by close friends MiLLa (bass and vocals) Sam Sanders (guitars) and Aquila Porter (drums & BV’s). Relocating from the North to their spiritual home of Naarm / Melbourne, Loose Content are following the footsteps of bands like The Birthday Party and The Drones who cut their teeth and built their musical output on residency gigs and tales of shared housing. Loose Content’s sound draws inspiration from artists like The Police, Radiohead, Courtney Barnett and deep cut Talking Heads. Part pop. Part punk. Art. Indie. Rock.

Costumes features 7 tracks including their latest single Pet Alsatian —an upbeat, melodic anthem that juxtaposes its near-naive musical energy with weighty lyrical and thematic depth, as well as their single Where The Hollow People Sleep. Costumes weaves together literary inspiration with raw musicality, creating a compelling narrative that lingers long after the last note.

Produced by the renowned Nick DiDia—whose production credits adorn records by Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against the Machine, Bruce Springsteen, and Powderfinger—Costumes offers a stellar debut from a band on the precipice of their prime.

Exploring themes that navigate both societal and personal struggles, the EP delves into the systemic inequalities of capitalism, societal alienation, and the darker recesses of the human psyche, touching on guilt, isolation, and obsession. It also confronts issues such as environmental collapse and consumerism while reflecting on displacement and the erosion of cultural identity.
