Melbourne/Naarm quartet Public Figures have only been together for a tad over a year but have really made a splash, with shows supporting the likes of Shannon & The Clams, Magic Dirt and Gut Health - and, most (in)famously - the insanely packed (and ultimately cancelled) support slot for Amyl & The Sniffers at Fed Square late last year [Public Figures played; Amyl had to cancel]. The uncompromising project of longtime collaborators Evie Vlah and Gigi Agiro, Public Figures are punk with purpose, with songs that swing between identity, power and resistance with explosive honesty.
