“An infectious love letter to the indie-rock canon.”
The Line of Best Fit

Japanese rock band DYGL (pronounced ‘day-glo’) are set to release their AUS version of their latest album, Who’s in the House?, on 18 January 2026, via Cheersquad Records & Tapes. The four-piece alt-rock band has landed features in NME, Japan Times, The Line of Best Fit, and Headstuff. The band has toured globally, playing shows in China, the USA, the UK (supporting Bad Suns), and Europe (supporting The Mystery Lights). They have also performed at a wide range of music festivals, including Le Magnifique (France), Treefort Music Fest, SXSW (USA), Concrete & Grass (China), Summer Sonic, Fuji Rock Festival (Japan), Maho Rasop (Thailand), and DMZ PEACE TRAIN MUSIC FESTIVAL(Korea). Additionally, the group has opened for indie rock legends Franz Ferdinand, Pavement, and Beach Fossils and Fontaines D.C..

DYGL was formed in 2012 when members Nobuki Akiyama (vocals & guitar), Kohei Kamoto (guitar), Yotaro Kachi (bass), and Yosuke Shimonaka (guitar) were studying at Meiji Gakuin University. The group has released five studio albums. After the release of their first EP in 2015, the band collaborated with Albert Hammond Jr. (guitarist for The Strokes) and Gus Oberg, who produced their 2017 debut album, Say Goodbye to Memory Den. This was followed by Songs of Innocence & Experience (2019, produced by Rory Attwell from Test Icicles), A Daze In A Haze (2021, self produced), Thirst (2022, self produced), and the latest album Who’s in the House? (2025, recorded, mixed and mastered by Stephanie “Slozzaa” Loza)

After exploring a wide range of musical styles, their sound is now shifting toward a more raw and physical direction, drawing influence from Television, Talking Heads, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath. Their latest album, Who’s in the House?, was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Stephanie “Slozzaa” Loza, who also works with artists such as Remi Wolf, Duckwrth, and Masego.
