Girlpool 'Powerplant' LP Vinyl

Formed in 2013 by friends Avery Tucker and Harmony Tividad, Girlpool are an indie rock band hailing from Los Angeles, California. Their sound has been compared to "an angrier, socially conscious Kimya Dawson" by Chris Conaton, while Mapes have described their more recent style as "echoing second-wave emo sourness, britpop jagle, and classic alt-rock".

Released in 2017 on the ANTI- record label, "Powerplant" is the band's second studio album. The songs have been seen as "blink-and-you'll-miss-em" in a true grungey fashion, with the "loud-quiet-loudness" of alternative rock through the track listing. Making use of lo-fi and noise, tracks like "Soup" stand our for its clever incorporation of distortion, while songs like "Your Heart" reflect the lyrical work of a lonely mind.
