The songs stare our biggest life moments in the face - falling in love, trepidations about getting older, the last few years of being young women in the music industry, the years ahead of settling down and starting a family and still feeling like we need time to discover ourselves. The songs chart Lily’s fall into love, Grace’s mid-twenties independence, and both of us strengthening our bond as sisters. We wrote, recorded and released this album over the course of a year, and the world around us has become more and more steeped in changes we once would have considered absurd. American politics loom large over the culture, social media and AI shapeshift through the music industry, microtrends blur past with breakneck, algorithmic speed while the news cycle feels so terrible we don’t even know where to look. Amidst it all, Grace and I have noticed in ourselves the con\u003cspan class=\"s2\"\u003efl\u003c\/span\u003eict that many artists are feeling around how to put beautiful art out into a noisy world.
